The powder feeder is intended to serve melting and ladle furnaces for blowing pre-set portions of powder reactants ( alloys, deoxidizers, carbon, line, filter dust, etc.) into metal or slag melt by means of the carrying gas(air, N₂ or Ar) jet. It may be used also fo dunning refractory materials to repair the lining of furnaces and ladles.
     The mix of the powder feeder equipment comprises two bins with vibrators and chutes; the air container with an aerator, gate and safety valves; the panel with regulating and measuring devices; the unit of powder weighing and transportation control.
      Technical performance. The manual or remote control of the feeder is possible. The latter is fulfilled on the base of programmable controller with output signal, transferred to the upper control level. According to the customer demand the scope of delivered equipment may include a mechanized lance device.
